Local is a big deal to us here at The White Swan, at the bottom of the hill is the Chalk Springs Trout Farm, who bring us beautiful trout. Our ice cream comes straight from the dairy, made by Caroline and her team; the cod we use for our fish and chips is landed at the Witterings less than 20 miles away. It’s delivered to us by long established Wittering fishmonger Something Fishy; our lamb comes from Lyminster and is delivered to us by Jordans butchers.
We don’t forget about local drinks too, our British fizz comes from Tinwood just down the road, we buy ale from Arundel and Harveys breweries, and gin from Chilgrove, made with water that has filtered through the chalk of the downs. These are just a few examples of our efforts to choose local, sustainable suppliers. Many of them have their own shops too so you can take a piece of West Sussex with you when you leave (maybe not the ice cream mind you!)
